Carlos moved to Canada on January 2, 2002, as Jean Chretien led his last two years term. Carlos had completed high school in Bogota, Colombia, with a focus on all matters of sciences, math, and social studies. During 2002 and 2003 Carlos completed his ESL studies at York University in Toronto, Ontario and at Hansa language Centre. On 2004, Carlos transferred his studies at the Adult Learning Centre on Broadview Ave, where he studied math and English to complete his high school in Canada. Still, as he wanted to be more social and a better learning environment, he transferred to Monsignor Fraser College, where he graduated from a Canadian-accredited high school. His love and interest in serving as a Toronto Police Officer induced him to attend Seneca College in King City, where he pursued studies in Police Foundations. However, his still weak English language did not allow to continue and had to drop his courses. This was his first failure in the English language. After that, influenced by his father, Carlos started his studies in Hotel Management at George Brown College, but his dislike for accounting forced him to withdraw from his third semester in hotel management. At the age of 29, Carlos moved from Ontario to British Columbia, and he continued his intent to join the Victoria Police this time. However, his failure to pass the English test incited him to pursue further studies at Camosun College, where due to the arrogance and egocentrism of the education system between provinces forced Carlos to undergo upgrading studies in Math and English to be able to pursue his studies at Camosun College. It was at Camosun College, where thanks to its excellent academic advising tools, Carlos was convinced that his more tremendous potential was in leading and in his interest in Social Studies. Therefore, Carlos pursued university transfer courses at Camosun, where he completed studies in politics, criminology, social science, human rights and English. During this time, Carlos realized that he struggled with ADHD and further realized how abusive and broken the secular system was and how his liberal professor in political studies had used her position and place of authority to restrain Carlos’s freedom of religion and freedom of speech, by restricting him from using biblical sources in his essays. This inspired Carlos to go to Trinity Western University, where he continued his studies in theology and political studies, and also inspired him to fight for religious freedom and freedoms in general. Carlos is in the second year of his Masters studies in Leadership and General Studies at TWU.
Carlos spent his first 20 years of life in Bogota, Colombia, where he grew up. There, Carlos grew up with his two sisters Maria Consuelo Suarez Rubio, and Maria del Pilar Suarez Rubio, who became like two more mothers in his life. His mother, Consuelo Rubio de Suarez, an interior designer, and his father, Carlos Rafael Suarez, an economist. Taught Carlos the importance of family respect, values and morals; They learned in the catholic church. At the age of 30, Carlos married his first true love, Andrea Londono Echavarria, to whom he has been married for thirdteen years. Andrea and Carlos spent three years in Colombia, while Carlos sponsored Andrea to Canada. In March 2015, Carlos and Andrea started their life together in British Columbia and have loved the province ever since. Their first daughter, Sophie Marie Suarez was born at Langley Memorial Hospital on August 26, 2020, and was named after Carlos’s love for wisdom, Carlos’s love for Sophie Trudeau and her resilience to overcome COVID-19 and his love for the French and virgin Marie as a virtuous woman. Carlos and Andrea moved from Victoria to Langley in August 2017 for Carlos to start university, and have loved Langley ever since.
Carlos has worked for the private sector for 19 years. Carlos has worked in the hospitality industry and loves tourism, restaurants, and the hotel and wine industry. Carlos has also worked in the food industry for two great businesses such as Sobeys and Save on Foods; the reason why he sees the need for more offers for organic food and the importance of organic food in the food industry. Carlos started working at Sobeys grocery store in 2003, and has worked in customer service for nineteen years. His must fun jobs have been at the Rogers Center in Toronto; where he worked for the Blue Jays. Carlos also worked for Clublink, where he loved the golfing benefits, and at Bear Mountain Resort, Victoria, where he loved working on the golf course and the awesome team that he worked with. His most recent job was at Poppy Estate Golf Course, and his current job is at Newlands Golf Course And Country Club. As a good golfer and admirer of golf as a sport for meditation and high levels of concentration, Carlos loves socializing and encountering new people on the golf course. Lastly, as Carlos’s passion was to follow his maternal grandfather, a retired general of the Colombian Police Force, Carlos’s main goal was to become an RCMP officer, but that goal was cancelled due to his uncorrected vision. Thus, Carlos focused his efforts and studies in politics; a more meaningful way of leadership. Security, an industry in which Carlos has worked for the last six years, has developed in Carlos strong observation skills, discernment, excellent judgement, and great decision-making skills. Nothing goes out of his radar when he wants to find out the truth, even if it is hidden.
Moreover, since Carlos started his studies in politics, he has fallen in love with people, public policy, social justice, morality, leadership, justice, and law. In addition, during his studies at TWU, Carlos has learned to look deeper into his spirituality and the need for faith in politics at all levels. Lastly, although Carlos has loved political power through his studies too, Carlos would rather be seen as a leader than as a politician. Carlos’s strengths in politics lays down in his love for First Nations, the poor, the institutions, democracy and freedoms.
Carlos ‘s volunteer experience has focus where his passion lays. His first volunteer experience in 2003 was at Toronto Humane Society, where he enjoyed his belove dogs and no so beloved cats. There he volunteered for six months. In 2003 Carlos also volunteered at Toronto Habitat for humanity, where he enjoyed the vision and mission of this great charity organization and work in the warehouse for four months. In 2004 Carlos volunteer for the first time for Canada’s NDP and met jack Layton, a political figure and loving man, who he admired very much. In 2010 Carlos volunteer for the Conservative Party of Canada and join his first EDA as a board member at Esquimalt and Juan de Fuca. During 2015 to 2016, Carlos volunteer both a life tree church during Sunday school at kids’s ministry leading pre-kindergarten something he loved very much, and at Saanich Baptist Church where Carlos led a team of youth two times a week. “Leading the youth was incredibly beautiful and taught me a lot about my call both in life and in politics.” (Carlos Suarez Rubio) in 2017 Carlos moved to Langley, and there he joined fruitful efforts to get Tamara Jansen as the elected MP for Langley, Surrey, Cloverdale. This was a goal that Carlos set in his mind as his love and admiration for Tamara and for women’s leadership in politics. Carlos also joined The Langley, Surrey, Cloverdale for about three months before heading to Ottawa, where he completed an internship experience with conservative MP in 2020. For his studies in Politics, and volunteered to get Blair Whitmarsh elected during the last municipal elections in 2019. Another goal he set for himself as believer of good governance. In the winter of 2020, Carlos volunteered at the office of Damien Kurek, former TWU graduate and current MP for Battle River Crawfoot; and completed his internship at part of his Bachelor Studies in Political Science. Currently, Carlos is the Vice President and former President of the Riding Association for the Langley Riding at Conservative Party of BC, where he seats on monthly bases during business meetings looking after the interest of conservatives in the Riding.
Moreover, since Carlos started his studies in politics, he has fallen in love with people, public policy, social justice, morality, leadership, justice, and law. In addition, during his studies at TWU, Carlos has learned to look deeper into his spirituality and the need for faith in politics at all levels. About Carlos
Carlos has had an interest about harmony, equality, and to be a mediator since early age. He loved spending time outdoors and on farms milking cows, as he used to do this every summer during the holy week in Colombia at Subachoque. However, Carlos was never interested in politics; he wanted to bring good judgement and reconciliation among those close to him. Therefore, his strength he found in loving the poor, farmers, and First Nations and establishing peace among those he loved. Carlos realized he had a natural heart for equality, fairness, and mediating among people in conflict. These skills he showed early in his life during monetary family conflicts within his maternal family. Carlos’s interest in politics began during the 90th as he found it very fun and interesting helping Andres Pastrana Arango, a former conservative president in Colombia, with his campaign and got involved in the youth movement and outreach volunteer work. It was not until 2015 that Carlos felt like getting involved in politics in Canada and volunteered with the NDP in Toronto by helping Jack Layton’s campaign doing door knocking for the first time. This was a meaningful experience; Carlos also volunteered for Andrea Horwath with his friend Matias de Dedovitis during one of Andrea’s first Campaigns. However, his dispersed mind and compulsive behaviour kept on telling him that it was not the time to do anything more than volunteer work. In 2010 Carlos converted to Protestantism, and for his 30th birthday, he got his first membership with the conservative party of Canada. It was then that Carlos felt love and passion for Canadian leadership, as he was also doing his college studies at Camosun College. In the years thereafter, from 2010-2020, Carlos continued his volunteer work. Still, now as a Christian, his heart’s interests were only with helping and building the Conservative Party of Canada, for which he volunteered for the three following federal elections both in Victoria, and his last campaign being with Tamara Jansen, former MP for Langley, Surrey, Cloverdale. In addition, Carlos’s love for British Columbia and the need to bring back the province to its bases in the gospel and a politics of morality and common sense inspired him to get involved with the Conservative Party of BC.
Carlos’s six Pillars for Leadership
My main message for families is: I got your back. As I recognize that we are living in times of adversity, both climatically and economically, with scarcity, my main goal is to reduce taxation to create your savings and protect your right to guide your children bases on family values, not based on government agendas and on ideologies or practices harmful for the psychology of children.
My main focus in business will be to empower and promote the hotel, restaurant and wine industry by organizing events that promote Langley’s tourism and the restaurant and wine industry. In addition, I will be looking into eliminating taxes for small entrepreneurs wanting to open up bars and restaurants in Langley, to make Langley more attractive and give the municipality a full potential for development in the urban areas. My vision is that you don’t see the need to travel to Vancouver if you want to drink or dance, but rather stay local and be safe.
My last vision in business, is to reduce taxes as an incentive for local farmers to increase the production of organic food free of pesticides. Keeping in mind the demand for healthy food and the modern choices of the young community increasingly becoming vegan or vegetarian, I aim to motivate and promote local farmers to increase the production of organic food and for it to be available at fair prices that allow prosperity but also high demand and popularity among local farmers in Langley.
In my struggle with depression, OCD, and anxiety, I learned that a happy brain is empowered by exercise and positive experiences. Therefore, This campaign is focused on increasing funding to implement much better and more accessible mental health facilities that can encompass compassion, mercy and love for all of its patients, and will be exploring the possibility of making municipal gyms, sports lessons, and recreation activities tax deductible. Lastly, I will also empower a program with local school trustees to plan x number of trees locally and implement a program to reduce CO2 in our municipality. And will empower the option to impose a tax hike on sugar products, microwave food and highly processed food. Finally, I would like to introduce a tax incentive program for Doctors and Psychiatrist to feel motivated to stay in BC.
My plan for the community includes a program to invite more youth and children to become neighbourhood watchers in their communities and report any suspect activity to local policing. This program could be worth six or nine credits towards their school diploma or certificate. This will incentivize good conscience, love for their neighbours and perfect communication skills that will equip them for better jobs. My second community program is to plan for a local emergency fund that could be used to increase the number of local cameras in Langley Walnut Grove, to watch and deter criminal activity, or to help with climate change emergencies. My focus on community projects will also be directed at making more fun community events at Fort Langley, such as a yearly salsa fest and an annual gastronomic fair also taking part in Fort Langley.
As a lover of security, policing and law enforcement, I have a plan to increase the number of local RCMP officers in Langley and increase the number of local auxiliary recruiters that will perform the daily patrolling activity that we have no seen, such as the foot and biking patrols. We need more local officers doing hourly patrols by foot, by horse with a mountain unit and by bike in Fort Langley, around 208st and in our local neighbours, such as Willowby, to reduce the level of break-in entries in entries and local crime. I also will encourage local authorities to develop a plan to eliminate the number of drugs and weapons coming from the EEUU and Langley. This will stop drug traffic in Langley and the gang problem that we are facing. An idea of this can be more frequent searches at the Langley Border with the EEUU.
In matters of education, I will be creating more funding for programs that are of immediate need for BC, such as psychiatry, Marine Biology, Police Foundation or Criminology, Psychology, Counselling, and medicine, and climate studies to stop the problem with wild fires.
