"A Visionary Leader for a Better Tomorrow"

“Carlos Suárez Rubio is committed to building a fair, prosperous, and sustainable community. Join the movement for real change and a brighter future.”

Carlos moved to Canada on January 2, 2002, as Jean Chretien led his last two years term. Carlos had completed high school in Bogota, Colombia, with a focus on all matters of sciences, math, and social studies. During 2002 and 2003 Carlos completed his ESL studies at York University in Toronto, Ontario and at Hansa language Centre. On 2004, Carlos transferred his studies at the Adult Learning Centre on Broadview Ave, where he studied math and English to complete his high school in Canada. Still, as he wanted to be more social and a better learning environment, he transferred to Monsignor Fraser College, where he graduated from a Canadian-accredited high school. His love and interest in serving as a Toronto Police Officer induced him to attend Seneca College in King City, where he pursued studies in Police Foundations. However, his still weak English language did not allow to continue and had to drop his courses. This was his first failure in the English language. After that, influenced by his father, Carlos started his studies in Hotel Management at George Brown College, but his dislike for accounting forced him to withdraw from his third semester in hotel management. At the age of 29, Carlos moved from Ontario to British Columbia, and he continued his intent to join the Victoria Police this time. However, his failure to pass the English test incited him to pursue further studies at Camosun College, where due to the arrogance and egocentrism of the education system between provinces forced Carlos to undergo upgrading studies in Math and English to be able to pursue his studies at Camosun College. It was at Camosun College, where thanks to its excellent academic advising tools, Carlos was convinced that his more tremendous potential was in leading and in his interest in Social Studies. Therefore, Carlos pursued university transfer courses at Camosun, where he completed studies in politics, criminology, social science, human rights and English. During this time, Carlos realized that he struggled with ADHD and further realized how abusive and broken the secular system was and how his liberal professor in political studies had used her position and place of authority to restrain Carlos’s freedom of religion and freedom of speech, by restricting him from using biblical sources in his essays. This inspired Carlos to go to Trinity Western University, where he continued his studies in theology and political studies, and also inspired him to fight for religious freedom and freedoms in general. Carlos is in the second year of his Masters studies in Leadership and General Studies at TWU.

About Carlos

Carlos has had an interest about harmony, equality, and to be a mediator since early age. He loved spending time outdoors and on farms milking cows, as he used to do this every summer during the holy week in Colombia at Subachoque. However, Carlos was never interested in politics; he wanted to bring good judgement and reconciliation among those close to him. Therefore, his strength he found in loving the poor, farmers, and First Nations and establishing peace among those he loved. Carlos realized he had a natural heart for equality, fairness, and mediating among people in conflict. These skills he showed early in his life during monetary family conflicts within his maternal family. Carlos’s interest in politics began during the 90th as he found it very fun and interesting helping Andres Pastrana Arango, a former conservative president in Colombia, with his campaign and got involved in the youth movement and outreach volunteer work. It was not until 2015 that Carlos felt like getting involved in politics in Canada and volunteered with the NDP in Toronto by helping Jack Layton’s campaign doing door knocking for the first time. This was a meaningful experience; Carlos also volunteered for Andrea Horwath with his friend Matias de Dedovitis during one of Andrea’s first Campaigns. However, his dispersed mind and compulsive behaviour kept on telling him that it was not the time to do anything more than volunteer work. In 2010 Carlos converted to Protestantism, and for his 30th birthday, he got his first membership with the conservative party of Canada. It was then that Carlos felt love and passion for Canadian leadership, as he was also doing his college studies at Camosun College. In the years thereafter, from 2010-2020, Carlos continued his volunteer work. Still, now as a Christian, his heart’s interests were only with helping and building the Conservative Party of Canada, for which he volunteered for the three following federal elections both in Victoria, and his last campaign being with Tamara Jansen, former MP for Langley, Surrey, Cloverdale. In addition, Carlos’s love for British Columbia and the need to bring back the province to its bases in the gospel and a politics of morality and common sense inspired him to get involved with the Conservative Party of BC.

Carlos’s six Pillars for Leadership

My main message for families is: I got your back. As I recognize that we are living in times of adversity, both climatically and economically, with scarcity, my main goal is to reduce taxation to create your savings and protect your right to guide your children bases on family values, not based on government agendas and on ideologies or practices harmful for the psychology of children.
My plan for the community includes a program to invite more youth and children to become neighbourhood watchers in their communities and report any suspect activity to local policing. This program could be worth six or nine credits towards their school diploma or certificate. This will incentivize good conscience, love for their neighbours and perfect communication skills that will equip them for better jobs. My second community program is to plan for a local emergency fund that could be used to increase the number of local cameras in Langley Walnut Grove, to watch and deter criminal activity, or to help with climate change emergencies. My focus on community projects will also be directed at making more fun community events at Fort Langley, such as a yearly salsa fest and an annual gastronomic fair also taking part in Fort Langley.
